Client Access
Accessing the virtual desktop can be achieved using the VMware Horizon app available on the following platforms:
• Windows devices: Tablet, Mobile, PC
• Android / Apple OS – iPhone, iPad, MAC, Tablets, Phones
• Password changes are enforced for all user accounts, with a maximum age of 90 days.
• Password complexity is as follows:
• minimum 8 characters and combination of
o alpha numeric, upper and lower case, special characters
o password history retained for the last 10 entries
• SSL encrypted sessions

An encrypted web portal is available to provide quick access from where ever you are.

Remote Client Connectivity Support:
• Access is secured at the datacenter by hardware firewalls at the perimeter and software firewall on the connect host
• Hosted Firewalls in HA (high availability) and programmed with IDS and IPS
• Firewalls are configured to only allow permitted traffic
• Firewall rules are reviewed as changes are made
• Encrypted Printer redirection
• Multi-monitor support

DaaS Basic Features
• Each virtual desktop is dedicated to a user account for an individuated look & feel
• Each virtual desktop will be defined with a 100GB hard drive (c drive)
• Anti-virus/anti-malware running on all user accounts, all areas of the hosted network and all local desktops
• Antivirus programs set to run at start-up and automatically scan the systems during use and updated daily
• Software updates and patches provided by N-ABLE:
o Windows critical updates – applied weekly
o Windows non-critical updates – applied monthly
o Other software updates – applied monthly
• 7-day backups of each user profile is maintained by SIMNET

DaaS Basic Backup
• Daily 7-day Retention – individual daily differentials are available for restore
• Backup data: Documents, Desktop, Favorites, and Pictures folder

Shared Storage and Security:
• To ensure secure access to data, Microsoft Active Directory is used. Each user will have their own account (shared accounts are not supported) providing individualized access to files and folders on the network.
• Shared storage is scalable and can be increased or decreased as needed. Shared storage can be allocated as a single share or a series of shares (multiple network drives) as needed be the client. Permissions are applied at the share level and inherited for all nested files and folders.
• Each workstation has a gigabit connection to the LAN providing fast transfer rates to and from the file shares.
